Escalation order and timing
Escalation is the order and timing of alerts after a missed check-in. Open Settings > Who is told to see and change it.
The default
When your grace period ends, all safety contacts are notified together. This is free and has no cap on how many contacts with the app can be alerted.
Tell one group first
On a paid plan you can alert a specific group first, then notify the rest of your safety contacts later:
- Create a group (see groups explained).
- In Who is told, choose Tell one group first and pick the group.
- Set the follow-up delay: how long after the first alert before all safety contacts are told if you still have not checked in.
The sequence on screen reads like this: You're warned, You're asked again, [Group] notified, Safety contacts notified, Vault message released, each with "straight away" or "after [duration]".
Always first
You are always warned and asked again before anyone else is contacted.
