Groups explained
A group is a closed list for people who need to be counted together. It might be a Saturday hike, a night-shift crew, a youth trip, a congregation, or an event.
What a group does
- The organizer can ask everyone in the group to check in at any time, or schedule it ahead.
- Members confirm on their own phones. The organizer sees who has answered.
- The name is encrypted on the organizer's phone, so Chillswitch stores it but cannot read it.
What a group is not
- Being in a group does not mean anyone is told when you miss a personal check-in. That is what safety contacts are for, and they are set separately.
- Members do not see each other's personal check-ins, schedules, or locations.
- A group is not a public feed. It is invitation only.
Who can start one
Starting a group is part of a paid plan; joining one is always free.
Plan | Groups you can run | Members per group |
|---|---|---|
Free | None (you can join groups) | n/a |
Individual | 2 | 8 |
Household | 4 | 12 |
Team | 6 | 15 |
Organization | 12 | 60 |
Network | 40 | 250 |
A Household plan also comes with a household group.
What members see
Everyone in a group sees the roll call totals. Only people who can already see the group's roster see names. Members can leave at any time without asking anyone.
