Account deletion

How to delete your account, what is removed, and what may remain.

Chillswitch is operated by Modernaut LLC. You can initiate deletion yourself from the authenticated app without waiting for support.

Delete in the app

  • Open Chillswitch and sign in to the account you want to delete.

  • Open Settings.

  • Select Delete account.

  • Read the subscription warning and confirm permanent deletion.

  • Wait for the app to confirm that the server accepted deletion before removing the app.

If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] with your account name and the problem preventing in-app deletion. Do not send your password or recovery code. Because accounts have no required email or phone identity, Modernaut may need proof that you control the account and may be unable to delete an account that cannot be safely verified.

Cancel a subscription separately

Deleting Chillswitch or your account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the applicable store before deleting to avoid future renewal charges. Store billing records and refunds are controlled by Apple or Google under their rules.

What active-system deletion removes

The authenticated deletion process cancels the active check-in schedule and deletes the account record. Database cascades remove account-owned schedules, deadlines, circles, memberships, keys, device sessions and tokens, invitations, subscription entitlement rows, and other account-owned records. The app clears account credentials and protected local key material from that device after the server confirms deletion. Other users may receive a limited notice that coverage or circle membership ended.

What may remain

  • Keyed hashes and minimal event records needed to document deletion, investigate security incidents, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.

  • Global SMS opt-out hashes and consent or delivery evidence needed to honor STOP and comply with messaging rules.

  • Apple, Google, Twilio, carrier, hosting, support, and financial records governed by provider policies or applicable law.

  • Encrypted backups and disaster-recovery copies until they age out under the applicable backup schedule.

  • Information another user independently holds on their device, such as a local roster label or an exported roll-call summary.

Timing

The active account is deleted when the authenticated request completes successfully. Provider systems, legally retained records, and backups may take longer to expire. We do not restore an account from backup after deletion; restoration media is used for disaster recovery and retained records remain subject to access controls.
