For rallies, marches, mutual aid, and volunteer events. Put a shared QR code on a flyer or slide, let people join your group with a scan, and run a live roll call so organizers can see who has checked in. Nonprofits and community groups, official or not, can request a free organization code.
Chillswitch groups are closed circles. The organizer creates the group, and people choose to join it.
Create one reusable code for a poster, flyer, or slide. Anyone who scans it joins your group until the number of uses you set runs out. Each code lasts 72 hours, so create a fresh one for each event.
People with Chillswitch installed join straight from the scan. Everyone else installs the app from their store, then scans the code again.
Ask the whole group to confirm at once and watch a live tally of who has answered, who is late, and who has not responded. Answers are voluntary, and a roll call is not proof of where anyone was.
Joining a group does not share anyone’s location. Members answer roll calls without handing the organizer a map of where they are.
Organizers see who has answered a roll call, not anyone’s personal schedule, check-in history, or whereabouts.
Organization plans raise the number of groups you can run and how many people each can hold. The Pricing page lists the current limits.
You do not need to be incorporated. We read every request ourselves and decide case by case.
Charities, advocacy groups, unions, congregations, and other organizations with tax-exempt status. We may ask for your EIN so we can look you up.
Mutual aid networks, neighborhood associations, student groups, and volunteer-run efforts that are not formally incorporated.
Your group’s name, a website or social page where we can see what you do, how you would use groups and roll calls, and a contact we can reach.
Candidate campaigns, political parties and party committees, political action committees, and any group that promotes violence or targets people for who they are.
An organization code is a free grant of an organization plan for a stated term, which we will confirm by email. We can renew it, decline to renew it, or end it if the use no longer fits these criteria.
Codes are issued at Modernaut LLC’s discretion. Asking does not obligate us, and approval does not make us your legal or security advisor.
Most requests are answered by email. Activation happens in the app.
Use the button on this page or email [email protected] with your group’s name, what you do, and how you plan to use Chillswitch.
We may reply with questions. If approved, you receive an organization activation key by email.
In Chillswitch, open Plans, choose “Someone gave me a code”, and enter the key.
Start a group, choose a shared QR code, set how many uses it allows, then print it or share it on a slide.
Public events carry real risks, and no app removes them.
Chillswitch does not dispatch help, monitor your event, or replace marshals, medics, legal observers, or your own safety plan.
A shared QR code is only as private as the place it is posted. Set uses close to the number of people you expect, make a new code for each event, and remove anyone who should not be there.
Chillswitch never shows anyone your live location, but limited operational records exist, and we may be required to respond to valid legal process. Read the Privacy and Security pages before relying on the app.
Your group is responsible for permits, local rules, and how it uses Chillswitch. Nothing here is legal advice.
Straight answers for organizers.
Yes. If we approve your group, the organization code is a free grant for the term we confirm in writing. Groups that later want a paid plan can see the options on the Pricing page.
No. Informal community groups can request a code too. Registered nonprofits can share an EIN to speed things up, but it is not required for every group.
No. Joining a group does not share anyone’s location. A roll call shows who has answered, not where they are.
Anyone who scans it can join until its uses run out or 72 hours pass. Keep the use count close to your expected turnout, make a fresh code for each event, and remove people who should not be in the group. Removal is visible to the group.
No. We do not vet or endorse what groups say or do. We review whether a request fits our criteria, and we can end a code that no longer does.
Send us your group’s name, a link to your website or social page, and how you plan to use shared QR codes and roll calls. We will reply by email.
