Vault messages

A vault message is a private note that opens for the people you name only if you stop answering for an extended time. It is part of paid plans.

Set one up

  1. Open Settings > Vault message.
  2. Name recipients: safety contacts who use Chillswitch (ask them to open the app once). Naming recipients requires a paid subscription.
  3. Choose how long silence must last: 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, or 1 year. Any check-in or app launch resets the countdown.
  4. Add content: a note, a spare key location, or instructions. Choose everyone you named or only certain people for each item.

Warnings

  • No legal standing. A vault message is not a will and cannot transfer property.
  • Chillswitch keeps the sealed key from the day you set it up and decides when to release it. Do not store anything that would cause serious harm if revealed early.
  • If you lose your phone and recovery code, nobody can get into your vault, including Chillswitch. It will still be delivered on schedule, and you will not be able to cancel it.
  • If a recipient steps down while you are overdue, they will not receive it. The app warns them.

Delete

Delete vault message removes the message, items, and recipient keys from Chillswitch's servers.
