Intervals and repeating windows
An interval asks for a check-in every so often; a window asks for one at a set time of the week. Pick whichever matches your routine.
Intervals
- Free: choose from the preset intervals between every 2 hours and every day.
- Individual and Household: choose any interval from 30 minutes up to 30 days ("Choose your own"). You can mix days, hours, and minutes.
- The longer the interval, the less often you are asked; the grace period still applies after each deadline.
Repeating windows
A window is a stretch of the week when you check in once: the walk home, a shift, a class.
- Open Settings > How often you check in > At set times.
- Start from a preset (After school, Morning, After work, After a night shift, Every evening) or build your own.
- Pick the days, then set when the window opens and when the check-in is due by. Times move in 15-minute steps. A window can run overnight.
- Apply it.
Things to know about windows:
- The check-in is due by the closing time. You can check in any time after it opens.
- Before a window opens, the switch shows how long until it opens and when. A check-in made before the window opens is not accepted.
- Free accounts have one window. Paid plans allow more than one. Windows cannot overlap.
- Each window has its own time zone clock. It stays on the zone you set wherever you travel, unless you switch it.
- While you use windows, quiet hours are paused, because you are only asked during the windows. They return if you go back to an interval.
- Stop repeating returns you to the interval you used before.
