Shared QR codes and invitation links
A shared QR code lets a crowd join your group with one scan. It is built for posters, flyers, and slides at events, rallies, and gatherings.
Create one
- Open your group and choose Field invitations, then the Shared QR tab.
- Set the number of uses, up to your group's remaining capacity.
- Tap Create shared QR. The code is ready to show, print, or share, along with a join link.
How people join
- Someone with Chillswitch installed scans it with their phone camera and joins.
- Someone without the app installs it from their store and scans the code again.
- The link is also a short web address that opens the app where supported, or a page where the person can paste the code.
Limits and safety
- Uses: the QR works until the number of uses you set runs out.
- Expiry: a code stops working after 72 hours. Create a fresh one for each event.
- Anyone with the code can join. A shared QR is only as private as where you post it. Set uses close to the people you expect, and remove anyone who should not be there.
- A joining member answers roll calls only; they are not added to anyone's alerts.
