Roll calls from a place

A place-scoped roll call counts the people who are actually there. It suits a muster, a worksite, or an event meeting point.

Set a place

  1. When you ask a group to check in, turn on Set a place to check in from.
  2. Choose where you are now (your phone reads its location once) or type an address. Your phone's own map service looks the address up; it does not reach Chillswitch.
  3. Optionally name the location, and choose the allowed check-in radius (how far from the place still counts).

How answers work

Each phone compares its own position with the place and sends only whether it believes it is there. Answers read:

  • Confirmed, when the phone says it is at the place.
  • Answered elsewhere, when the phone is somewhere else. The answer arrives and says so, but does not count yet.
  • Couldn't tell, when the phone could not read its location.

Nobody's location reaches Chillswitch. The roll call card says "Counts people at [place]" before a person answers. A person who is not there can try again from the place.

Plan and caveats

Naming a place is part of a paid plan; asking everyone to confirm is unchanged. Each line is what that person's phone reported and is not proof of where anyone was.
