Join a group
Joining a group is free and takes a scan or a code. You choose your own check-in settings, and you can leave at any time without asking anyone.
Step by step
- Install Chillswitch and open it.
- Enter the code. Tap Enter an invite code in Settings, or scan the QR code with your camera. You can paste the whole line you were sent, or choose Scan a QR code invite.
- Review what you are agreeing to. The app shows who invited you and what the invitation does before you accept.
- Accept. You have joined.
What you agree to
As a group member you are asked to confirm you are alright when the organizer calls a roll call. You are never told that anyone is in trouble. Joining does not show you anyone's live location.
Check the sender
Names are chosen by the inviter, so check the handle matches who invited you. A text or QR from someone you already know is the strongest check.
Leave a group
Open the group and leave. No approval is needed.
If the code does not work
Codes expire after 72 hours, and a personal code can be used once. Ask for a new one. See invite code didn't work.
