Delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent and starts in the app. Open Settings > Advanced actions > Delete account. Nothing on the first page has happened yet; it lists what would.

What goes

Your account, everybody you added, your schedule, your keys, and every phone signed in. It goes at once, and no copy is kept to restore.

Who finds out

• People you look out for are told they have lost you as a safety contact.
• People on a group you started are told the group has gone.
• They are not told why.

Your check-in stops

Your schedule ends, and nobody is alerted if you go quiet after today. If that is what you wanted, you can pause the check-in instead and keep the account.

No way back in

Your recovery code stops working the moment deletion finishes. Signing up again later starts a new, empty account.

Confirm

Type the code shown on screen to turn on the button ("Delete my account for good"). It is different every time.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your store first to avoid future charges. Store billing records and refunds are controlled by Apple or Google.

If you cannot open the app

Email [email protected] with your account name. Because accounts have no required email or phone, Chillswitch may need proof that you control the account and may be unable to delete one it cannot safely verify.

What may remain

Minimal event records, SMS opt-out hashes, provider records, and encrypted backups until they age out. See the account deletion page.
